The main cause of the collapsed building may remain unclear but eye witness, neighbours and house occupants attributedthe disaster to the new telecommunication mast that was mounted onto of the building by one of the local telecommunication company.

It was gathered that the landlord of the collapsed building agreed with the telecommunication company before the mast was mounted. Moreover the heavy duty generator which was brought to power the communication mast was rejected by the community due to the fact that it was causing vibration around the building. But then nothing could have saved the building from doing down after a heavy rain storm.
